My brother Don took these two photos today while flying his plane southbound, a bit north of Sacramento.
He was west of the Sierra, shooting east.
In his email he said, "It's a good thing you are not hiking the PCT this year!"

It's Mt. Shasta... That's Shastina on the left (western) flank, so the view is more to the North-northeast than the East...
I'll be down in that smoke in a couple of days when I head for NorCal and the Marbles/Salmons/Trinity Alps...
Thanks for the 'smoke' update photos - I was wondering how bad it was (unfortunately, now I know!)...
